NEW: Girls'Day at OPTIMAX ENERGY

Do you already know about Girls'Day?

Girls'Day is a day where we celebrate girls and show them how great they can be in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Contrary to some clichés, being good at STEM subjects has nothing to do with your gender.

So don't let stupid prejudices and gender clichés talk you into it. Be curious and try out for yourself what you like, what suits you and what you really enjoy! To do just that, there is the nationwide Girls'Day! And you can be part of it!

At OPTIMAX ENERGY, we benefit from diverse women's power on a daily basis, which is why we invite you to take a look behind the scenes of our company to learn something new. As a technology and trading company, we will show you

- how and why we are jointly responsible for the European energy transition,

- why weather forecasting is the be-all and end-all of our daily activities,

- why green energy does not work without artificial intelligence and

- what it means to trade energy 24/7 throughout Europe.

After a brief introduction to the company, it's time to get started: you will learn what the all-important weather data is all about. Because the more accurately we can predict it, the faster green energy can be expanded.

We also want to show you how to program - which is actually super easy. With us, you will learn the basics of the PYTHON programming language (you do NOT need any previous knowledge), experiment with it a little and get to know the working world of an electricity trader or data analyst. We bet it will be a good day full of exciting "aha" moments. Oh, and did we mention that our chef will whip up a super tasty vegetarian/vegan lunch menu for us?

Have you already got the urge? Great!

Fancy a little story? We have many women working for us who have defied these prejudices and found their passion in technology. Take our IT project manager Yulia, for example.

Before she immersed herself in the world of IT, she worked in events and marketing. She has always been good at planning and organizing projects. She was also interested in innovation through technology. These two things can be combined perfectly - Yulia thought so too. Thanks to further education and training programs, she has now arrived in IT and feels very comfortable there.

"What I like most about my work is seeing the changes in the processes through teamwork, the communication between specialists and the feeling of being part of a team working on an important task. We ensure that the energy supply corresponds to the amount of energy required. We ensure balance in the electricity market and thus confidence in renewable energies."

Yulia's tip for all girls who are interested in IT or other STEM fields: "Start small, but dream big." So don't let it get you down and pursue your ideas and dreams, even if the first steps towards your goal seem small at first.
